HealthTrust Purchasing Group Receives Champion for Change Award

(Brentwood, TN) May 30, 2009 - HealthTrust Purchasing Group (HealthTrust) is pleased to announce the recent presentation of their first Champion for Change Award at the Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards ceremony. This prestigious event occurred during the CleanMed 2009 Global Conference on Environmentally Sustainable Health Care in Chicago. The Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards recognize outstanding efforts in environmental improvement within the health care field. The Champion for Change award specifically designates organizations that have demonstrated successful accomplishments in ‘greening’ their own organization and who have assisted their associated health care facility customers to improve their environmental performance. During 2008, HealthTrust accomplished these goals through the creation of formalized Sustainability and Environmentally Preferable Purchasing activities as part of their contracting processes for health care supplies and services.  Read more...

(Brentwood, TN) February 20, 2009 - HealthTrust Purchasing Group (HealthTrust) announced today that it has taken new steps toward environmental sustainability by becoming a member of Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading membership and networking organization for institutions in the healthcare community that have made a commitment to sustainable, eco-friendly practices.

“By joining Practice Greenhealth, we are solidifying our commitment to improving our environmental impact on the patients, staff and communities served by our members,” according to J.
