Healthcare Group Purchasing Industry Initiative (HGPII)

Healthcare group purchasing organizations (GPOs) help healthcare providers meet one of their greatest challenges – controlling costs while advancing quality patient care by pooling the purchasing needs of hospitals, health systems and other providers to help lower the cost of buying drugs, supplies and medical devices.

In 2005, the HGPII was formed by nine healthcare GPOs to promote and monitor best ethical and business practices in purchasing for hospitals and other healthcare providers. HealthTrust Purchasing Group is privileged to be one of the nine founding GPOs for this crucial initiative in the healthcare industry.

In January 2006, the HGPII held a Best Practices Forum in Nashville, Tennessee for healthcare GPOs. For additional information, visit www.healthcaregpoii.com
