Alternative Care Agreements

In order to meet the unique demands of our highly specialized membership, HealthTrust strives to provide the same quality assurance guidelines without compromising price for such specialty items. 

To ensure these needs are met, HealthTrust maintains extensive contracts specific to Long-Term Care and Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Additionally, members may work with HealthTrust contracting to request any items not currently offered by HealthTrust.

Clinical Agreements

Clinical products and supplies include specialty areas such as Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Implants, Med-Surg supplies, and Cardiovascular products, which include Angioplasty Balloons - Guidewires - Stents, Pacemakers and Defibrillators. 

Energy Agreements

Through strategic energy sourcing, HealthTrust enables hospitals to meet the challenges of deregulation in the natural gas and electricity utility markets.

Pharmacy Agreements

HealthTrust has identified Pharmacy as an essential component in the provision of quality healthcare to our patients, encompassing the acquisition, preparation, and distribution of pharmaceutical products to our patients.

In fact, Pharmaceutical Care has come to the forefront of Pharmacy activities.

Currently, all HealthTrust Pharmaceutical Product Contracts are administered with McKesson MedManagement's Pharmacy Alliance for Clinical Therapeutics (PACT) Program.

Physician Preference Agreements

HealthTrust realizes that physician preference areas such as cardiovascular and orthopedics are huge cost drivers to the provider.

However, no GPO should come between hospital administration and their physicians when it comes to the choice of medical devices needed to treat the patient. To this end, HealthTrust offers a complete line of contracts in these areas that provides substantial choice to our members and their physicians.

In addition, discounts are provided for this choice (5 suppliers in each area representing the top market share). And, substantial additional discounts  are available to the provider who can work with their physicians at the local level and standardize to one or two of the vendors.

Non-Clinical Agreements

Non-Clinical Products and Services include all services and supplies such as Information Systems, Telecommunications, Dietary, Linen, Managed Services, Administrative, and Design and Construction projects.

Supplier Diversity Program

HealthTrust's Supplier Diversity Program is proactive in pre-sourcing and sourcing minority and/or women-owned business enterprises (MWBE) to meet the supplier needs of HealthTrust members. HealthTrust aims to ensure that the supplier base of our members reflects the diversity of the communities they serve.

The Supplier Diversity Program has established the following four objectives:

• Seek agreements with certified minority andMWBE manufacturers, distributors, and service providers;
• Build a database of approved MWBEs as potential supply partners;
• Implement agreements with MWBEs for HealthTrust member use;
• Provide a bona fide listing of MWBEs to all member sites.
